Next week, Shira, Lev and I will move back to Tel Aviv from Berlin. The wintry weather, the Covid all three of us got, and mostly, how much we missed Hanzo, our wonderful rabbit who stayed behind in Tel Aviv, led us to shorten our German adventure by six months. This is my last post from Berlin, and a farewell to one of my favorite people in the city.

Li & I, Photo by Shira Geffen

My physiotherapist, Li, thinks I write too much.

“Every week when you come to me, your back is hard like a rock,” she told me last time I saw her. “I spend a whole hour pummeling and kneading it, and by the end of the session it’s as soft as a tender steak, and then…” – she waved her hands in desperation – “a week later you bring it back to me rigid again. It’s a problem. A problem that never ends. And I say, it’s all because of your writing.”
