Time is indeed a killer topic, ha ha. Phillip Larkin had some great poems in this vein - "This is the first thing / I have understood: / Time is the echo of an axe / Within a wood." Also his slightly longer poem "days." But then there is that saying "haval al hazman" - for a long time I thought it was just an ivrit version of "waste of time," but then someone in Israel told me it actually means "something so good it puts time itself to shame," where time is meant to be this great magnificent thing. I think that's right? It's much more interesting than the English version of the phrase.

The way I understand “Havel Al Hazman” is that it would be a waste of time to try and put into words how awesome it was . But I’m not sure that this explanation is better than the one you’ve suggested.
