Thank you Etgar. Only you can write about the dark & hard and make the reader smile. Congratulations for the lifetime achievement reward, I think you’re too young for that although you definitely deserve a reward. It’s a great quality time hanging in with your stories 🙏❤️ Leah Greenspan
I think that squirrel needs to get into the rap game, he has that kind of energy. I imagine the squirrel in my story as more laid back, less new york, more wilderness-y.
Oh! Is this why *my* copy which i‘ve ordered straight away in March is being postponed now until October???
Did you NYC guys grab them all so that not a single copy — signed or unsigned — is being left for a hungry monkey hereabouts???, and I’ll have to run for the *German* version, of all things??!!!

Although I have nothing to do with the distribution, I’m so sorry you have to wait until October for your book! I’m in the US though not in NYC. Did you order from McNally Jackson? Maybe they were first to release the book… one thing I can say is that the book is well worth the wait so hang in there!
Saw you interviewed last week by Ira Glass. Brought a couple of friends who hadn't previously read you. They will now. This seems to be the advice you gave at the interview contained in a nutshell. Keep writing. We need your voice.
Hi. I'm Kressel. I was in the audience at the Brotherhood Synagogue. I wanted to meet you afterward, but the line was too long, and I had to get back to my Mom and her Bubby-sitter. But it was a thrill to see you in person. I've been working on my application to your program ever since.
If you had come to Stuyvesant Town, which is just a block north of 13th Street, you could have met our population of black Canadian squirrels, which is very well integrated with the typical New York greys. Here's a picture of a mixed breed. I've never seen any squirrel like him.
Ah, but the future is cutting down on my appetite!
Keep writing!
Short and dense, thank you for this great story.

Ouch, that was so pessimistic :(
On a happier note, I just received my signed edition of AUTOCORRECT, and I'm loving every story. What a great collection!

Still in NY ? Any more events? So grateful for your report, Squirrels or otherwise. 🙏☯️
I’m back home already.
I was an optimistic person. Not anymore I’m scared of the future.. from where I stand, it doesn’t seem so good!
Dear Yael, the future has always been painted in black, mostly to make people toe the line.
Karl Valentin, a German Philosopher, said: „Prognoses are always to be doubted, especially when they are regarding the future.“
Eventually, an optimist is just somebody pessimistic about a pessimistic outlook, aren‘t they, dear?
a bleak vision? or a taste of realism? things are hard and will get harder but in a new way? or am I misreading?
Reality is harsh . We should only micro dose on it.

Where can I see that interview? :)
Good advice.
Lovely writing. So very glad to have found you. I'm looking forward to more.
